But of course my work in the ”new” company was the main reason for my visit abroad. I already knew many processes and of course products and systems thanks to the experience I had already gained at Viacor in Germany. I was working in the Production/Production Management and Research and Development departments, where I started working right away in the day-to-day operations and I was quickly integrated. I mostly worked within production planning and preparation and then the final inspection of the manufactured goods. Within R&D I helped in the Quality Control and Assurance department and the processing of requests for samples. The sample orders covered the preparation, creation, cutting and labelling of the sample. As I was mostly carrying out these tasks on my own, I learned a lot about the application engineering of the products. Within a short space of time, I had learned many systems and had even memorised many formulas and mixture ratios off by heart.
English is the main language and helps in all aspects of everyday life, due to the history of Malaysia and the past colonial rule under Great Britain. English is especially commonplace in the office and in business and everyone speaks it perfectly. It simplifies communication between colleagues, customers and visitors alike.
